Regional travel restrictions are tentatively easing, but it’ll take longer for non-Australians to join in. I didn’t have a single bad meal, whether Polish cabbage rolls, French patisserie, or nibbles at a winery. I’d take lunch-hour cycle rides by Lake Burley Griffin and weekend walks up Mount Ainslie. Only screeching cockatoos disturbed my laptop time. When I was caught between lockdowns and travel restrictions, Canberra was my refuge.
